Description:

Join Sophie Darling for a session of print and pattern. This beginner-friendly workshop will introduce you to the fundamental principles of screen printing, guiding you through the process of designing and printing your own creations using paper stencils.

Our goal by the end of the workshop is for you to print your own two colour designs using your own hand cut designs. Sophie will be walking you through the process via demo’s and we’ll be looking at a selection of samples from Sophie’s Archive. By the end of the session you can expect to have your own layered design screen printed onto fabric ready for framing.

What You Will Learn:

Introduction to Screen Printing:

  • Understand the basic principles of textile screen printing.
  • Learn about the materials and tools.

Design Inspiration:

  • Explore different design inspirations and techniques.
  • Discuss and conceptualize your own design ideas.

Creating Paper Stencils:

  • Learn to cut and make paper stencils for your designs.
  • Use Sophie’s blank screens to create your prints.

Printing Techniques:

  • Experiment with different pre-mixed inks and colors.
  • Learn layering techniques to add depth to your designs.

Hands-On Practice:

  • Apply your stencils and designs onto fabric.
  • Create your own unique layered design to take home.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

1. Refunds:

  • If you cancel at least seven days before the course begins, you will receive a full refund minus a 5% booking fee.
  • Cancellations made within seven days of the course start date are non-refundable.

2. Course Transfers

  • We may be able to transfer your booking to a future workshop upon request, although this is not guaranteed.

3. Course Cancellations:

  • We reserve the right to cancel any course due to circumstances such as low enrollment
  • In the event of a cancellation, we will make every effort to provide at least 7 days' notice.
  • If we cancel a course, you will receive a full refund.
