EXPERIMENTAL DRAWING AND DESIGN DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP With Studio Unfold & Sophie Darling

We're teaming up with our friend Lucy Beacham from Studio Unfold. Lucy has an amazing background in production design, prop making, and illustration, and she’s also an expert in therapeutic creative arts.
We'll kick things off with some relaxed, playful activities, drawing inspiration from organic still life setups. You'll experiment with mark-making using sustainable materials like charcoal, graphite, and Indian ink. As a group and individually, you'll create a series of observational studies, with plenty of support and guidance from Sophie and Lucy.
We'll dive into design development techniques like scaling-up, layering, and adding extra elements. Plus, you’ll get hands-on with mono printing and collage to create your own collection of work that can fuel your self-directed practice and be used on another of our print workshops.

Ready to take your screen printing skills to the next level? Our 2-day intermediate workshop is perfect for those with some experience who want to dive deeper into the art of screen printing and push their creative boundaries.
Over the course of two hands-on days, you’ll explore advanced techniques, including multi-layer printing, working with more complex stencils, and experimenting with color overlays and textures. Whether you're refining your designs or learning new tricks, we’ll guide you through the process with plenty of demonstrations, tips, and personalised feedback.
You'll leave this workshop with a small edition of your own unique prints and a deeper understanding of the techniques, tools, and creative possibilities of screen printing. Plus, we’ll cover everything you need to know to keep printing at home or in a studio setting, including insider tips on studio setup and the best materials to use.

This workshop is perfect for people with no prior experience of printing.

This beginner-friendly workshop will introduce you to the fundamental principles of screen printing, guiding you through the process of designing and printing your own creations using paper stencils.
Our goal by the end of the workshop is for you to print your own two colour designs using your own hand cut designs. Sophie will be walking you through the process via demo’s and we’ll be looking at a selection of samples from Sophie’s Archive. By the end of the session you can expect to have your own layered design screen printed onto fabric ready for framing
